Renting a Car in Anchorage

Hotels to Stay At in AnchorageAlaska

The two hotels in Anchorage I always recommend are the Hotel Captain Cook and the Extended Stay.

The Captain Cook Hotel is very nicely themed after the famed explorer Captain James Cook who sailed to Alaska in 1778 on his last voyage. The views of the Chucagh mountain range surrounding Anchorage and the Cook Inlet backdropped by the Alaska mountain range is spectacular. They’ve got fine dining and the hotel is conveniently located downtown next to all the gift shops. Check out their website at Hotel Captain Cook.

The Extended Stay. Think of it as renting your own apartment. They have a kitchen, microwave, washer and dryer and dining area right in the rooms. It’s not themed and there’s no pool but every Extended Stay I’ve ever stayed in has always been insanely clean. I like that.
