I just got it 24 months ago, but that's not the reason I'm considering a change. She's getting less young, and really doesn't want to ride in the red toy much, as she wants more leg room, more elbow area, and a less punishing ride. So, to maintain marital bliss, I starting to look. Some ruled out candidates where the very fun Catherham super seven (not all a street car), the Mini Cooper S clubman (not really fun to drive like a miata), the S2000 (too expensive), a used Corvette (she who must be heard nixed that idea fast), and a Porsche boxster (not that much more comfortable the the MX5). So, as of now, the one in consideration is a 08.5 Mazdaspeed 3, which gives plenty of space for legs and elbows, a standard up right sitting position, room for 2 more (3 in a pinch) in the rear seat area, and more storage room. Negatives are the fixed roof- no moonroof in a M-speed car, FWD, not being a Miata, but it does have a great amount of HP 263, with lots of torque, 280 ft/lb. So , I 'm not going to let her even get into a plain jane 3, as I don't want her to feel a stock suspension, nor hear a stock muffler. I'll get the fun , she gets the room.Besides, there is always the blue STO (or a NA replacement), with all the associated go fast doodads, such as the Uber3. That's the rowdy boys car, for myself and son, who's autistic, but knows a good car when he sees (and certainly hears) our 97.
sad eye'd eddie, sorry to loose a perfectly good NC with less than 20K, but looking forward to a really fun daily driver.
